F.A.Q (Frequently Asked Questions)

Is your Hostel really located in the City Centre?

Yes, our hostel is located in the City Centre of Birmingham. We are only four streets away from the Bullring Shopping Centre and a two minute walk from Birmingham’s Coach Station, the coach station where all National Express Buses arrive. We are also less than ten minutes walk from Birmingham New Street, and Moor Street Train Stations.

What is building 2 and where is it?

Building 2 is our second building that houses additional accommodation. Rooms 6 through 20 are located here. The building is located right next to our main building. The common area for both buildings is located in our main building along with the kitchen facilities. If you are in building 2 you still have access to all the facilities in our main building, your bed is simply in another building. Wi-Fi is available in both of our buildings.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in time starts at 2pm and finishes at midnight (exceptions can be made for late check-ins if you let us know in advance but a late check-in fee may apply). We won’t be able to let you into your room before 2pm because we need time to clean the rooms, but you are more than welcome to drop off your belongings and head off to the city while you wait, or to just hang about in our common room. Check-out is at 11am, and you must take your things out of the room by this time so we may begin to clean the beds and rooms. If you want to stay another night then please let us know before this time otherwise we will assume that you are checking out. If you need to leave your belongings with us until you meet your train or bus, that’s not a problem.

How does your cancellation policy work?

We have a 48 hour cancellation policy (this is 48 hours prior to our 2pm check in time). If you do not inform us of your cancellation, you will be charged the cost of your first night's stay.

Can I get my deposit back if I cancel my booking?

A deposit by it's very nature is non-refundable, regardless though it goes to the booking agent and not us; so if you have any issues with the deposit you will need to contact them directly.

Do you take group bookings?

Yes, please see the group booking section of the website for more information.

Do you offer breakfast?

Yes, we offer a free light continental breakfast of tea, coffee, toast, breakfast spreads and fresh fruit. This is available down on the bar in the common area from 8 am-11:00 am.

Do you provide towels?

All our private rooms have towels already in, and for our other guests we have towels available to rent Free of charge. Just ask reception if you need one.

Are your rooms ensuite?

Based on the type of room you stay in and which building you are in it depends. Most of our rooms have no showers, sinks, or toilets in and instead have access to shared facilities in a seperate room. A few of our rooms have their own shower and sink inside.

Do you have a lock out?

No, we don’t operate a curfew. This is to give our guests freedom to access their room 24 hours a day. But please note, excessively loud and disruptive behaviour is grounds for eviction. If you are going out drinking, please remember to be courteous of other guests. If there are problems with noise or disrespectful behaviour, your party will be asked to leave without refund.

Do you have a kitchen that I can use?

Yes, we have a fully-fitted kitchen with an oven, stove, microwave, fridge/freezer, toaster, sandwich toaster, and kettle that guests are welcome to use from 8am until midnight.

Do you have a common room?

Yes, we have a large common room packed with fun things to do. It has big comfy couches to chill out in front of our fireplace on, a huge projection screen TV with a choice of hundreds of movies to watch, books to read, board games to play, a Nintendo Wii, and a Xbox 360. This is also where the computers that are Free for guests to use are located. There is plenty of room for people to sit at a table, eat dinner and chat. We also have an information area with ideas on places to visit in Birmingham and directions on how to get there. Lastly, we also have a small bar that offers a selection of beer, cider, spirts, and non-alcoholic drinks.

Do you have internet access and how much does it cost?

We have free Wi-Fi for guests to use in our common room and throughout the guest rooms. We also have two computers with internet access that are free to use if you don't have your own computer to use.
